I’ve steadily increased my Instagram following to over 14,000 followers when a few months ago it just got stuck. I kept getting new followers but I would lose just as many or sometimes a bit more. I don’t use any illegal means to increase my followers, just daily posting of my artwork with a thoughtful story to go with it.

But then other posts are fine. Most recent post not seen by many non-followers (not many views via hashtags). All these are my posts which are of Japan. But its not like IG doesn't like Japan posts because other posts of Japan have performed normally/well and get the usual expected ratio between followers and non-followers seeing it.

Having the same issue lately. Yeah, so instagram is a few days behind. So if u follow a few people at 7450 and you follow 60 peoplem for example, you will still see 7450 even tho u are really at 7510. Then in a few days you will see it say 7500 (the max, a glitch) but in reality you are still at 7510.
